Acclaimed bassist David Finck brings together an extraordinary lineup of jazz artists for an evening of world-class music. His playing can be heard on more than 250 recordings, including multi-platinum, Gold and Grammy Award-winning releases. The bassist of choice for Andr Previn, Hank Jones, Kenny Rankin, Steve Kuhn and Slide Hampton, Finck has also recorded with George Michael, Joe Locke, Rob Mathes, Tedd Firth, Philippe Saisse, Chuck Loeb, Tony Bennett, Gladys Knight, Rod Stewart, Natalie Cole and Rosemary Clooney. In 2008, he released the highly acclaimed Future Day (Soundbrush), followed by Low Standards (Soundbrush), BASSically Jazz (Burton Avenue) and BASSic Instinct (Burton Avenue). As a producer, Finck has helmed recordings for Tom Wopat, John Basile, Carol Fredette, Melissa Errico and Christy Baron. His 1991 article for The Village Voice led to a contribution to the book Frank Sinatra: The Man, The Music, The Legend (University of Rochester Press). For this special engagement, Finck surrounds himself with four exceptional musicians: acclaimed vibraphonist Joe Locke, tenor saxophonist Sam Dillon, pianist and arranger Tedd Firth, and Grammy Award-winning drummer Dennis Mackrel. Together, The David Finck Quintet promises an evening of sophisticated, swinging and spontaneous jazz performed by five of New Yorks finest musicians.
